Vintage Gold & Bustier Tops

30 years ago my mother bought these gold silk shorts in Hong Kong….and I have brought them back to life! Yes some of you are probably thinking “Your mother held on to a pair of shorts for 30 years?”, and yes it’s true! The treasures I have found in that spare closet are to die for! Stay tuned for more vintage clothing! I love how the gold silk shorts go well with this black bustier from Guess, strappy Zara pumps I bought 2 years ago, and the raspberry colored clutch from Danier.

The Emeralds – Jewel Tone Pleated Skirt

Emerald green has got to be one of my favorite colors, especially for fall! When I saw this pleated mini skirt in FCUK I just had to buy it! I feel almost like a little girl again when I used to do ballet, putting on my bodysuit and pleated skirt brought back some great childhood memories!  You can see that I have a love for pleated skirts and dresses (here and here) and I can never have too many of these! If I could, I would live in pleated skirts! They’re super comfortable and very girly! For behind the scenes look at this photo shoot click here. Enjoy!

Sparkle Week – Sequin Blazer

I noticed that this week I’ve been sparkling a lot with all the sequin pieces I’ve been wearing! First it was the sequin t-shirt, then the sequin shorts, now the sequin blazer! I never realized how many sequin pieces I own! Throwing on the sequin blazer and pairing it with these silk pants I bought at H&M I felt were a great ‘early’ fall outfit!

Sequin Shorts & Fuchsia Lips

I bought these sequin shorts from Zara a few years back when I was living in Lisbon, and never really had a chance to wear them that often! Today was the day, pairing it with this light white and grey striped sweater from Joe Fresh was a perfect way to blend in the greys, whites and blacks!  I love how the shorts are loose fitting, and almost bubble at the bottom, to give that somewhat casual look.  And just so I wasn’t too dull in the color palette, the fuchsia clutch and lips added that extra pop to the outfit!

Monday’s ‘Spice’ Route – Black and Ivory

After a much relaxing weekend in my sweatpants, I decided that today I had to spice things up by wearing a sequin ivory colored top and black shorts. Still causal but yet sophisticated. Accessories were kept to a minimum, the shell necklace, which was designed by my mom about 18 years ago, and my new clutch from The Lull, added the extra ‘spice’ to the outfit! I bought these Jessica Simpson pumps a few years back, and found them laying around the shoe section of my closet, it was almost as if they were calling me to take them out for a spin! It’s funny what you can find in your closet when you’re not even looking for it! I’m excited I’ve brought these shoes…
